“When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. ~Corinthians 13:11
I was thinking back on the night of my wedding how my dad and I danced to “Happy People” by Frankie Beverly and Maze. With tears in my eyes and the warmest feeling in my chest, we danced like the song would never end. It’s amazing how much influence our parents have on what we do, believe, and feel about who we are. My father has a profound influence on what I do for others, for he has always given generously to me. He instilled in me the belief of personal responsibility for the things I want out of life and the need to think things through. The sacrifices he made, gifted me a feeling that my life has value and it is always worth fighting for. I am forever thankful.
I am thankful that my daughter Alexis is now building her own relationship with her father. As children the lines are blurred, and not always clear on how much our parents influence us. As a dedication for what my Dad means to me, and what Angelo means to Alexis, I did a father day shoot for them to remember these moments. Right now I am eternally thankful that my daughter has a beautiful man in her life that represents the same thing to her. We love you hubby!
